As one of the most celebrated cheesemakers and a pioneer of the artisanal food movement, Cowgirl Creamery is a brand built on quality. Quality of ingredients, quality of cheeses, and quality of relationships with their customers and community.
When the time came to update and replatform their ecommerce business, we partnered with their team to migrate to Shopify and build a store that highlights the sense of place and deeply rooted relationships that make their cheeses special.
We migrated Cowgirl Creamery from Spree to Shopify, with a focus on modernizing their online operations. Their new store highlights the people and places that set Cowgirl Creamery apart, from the coastal farms and dairies of Marin County to their production facility in Sonoma County.
In order to manage the unique challenge of weekly inventory — Cowgirl Creamery forecasts and inventories their ecom offerings for all 52 weeks of the year — we created a custom app that allows their team to efficiently create and sell each product by shipping week.
Internal and seasonal orders are another core part of their online business, so we implemented a tool for bulk order creation and address validation, then trained their team to manage it along with the rest of the Shopify store. As a result, they've significantly reduced their reliance on CS and are able to effectively manage each element of their online store, from a robust blog to a suite of apps and
